1 - Up to Âncora

Easy
Easy route through National Road 302, one of the most picturesque national roads of the Viana do Castelo Municipality, with beautiful countryside and mountain surroundings. Short but very diversified route. For those who like to blend cycling and socializing, we suggest a stop at one of the nice terraces of Vila Praia de Âncora, at the mouth of the Âncora River, one of the purest rivers in the country. Stop, have coffee and enjoy the moment.

2- Up to Caminha

 Easy
Caminha is a border town at the mouth of the Minho River. One of the most picturesque towns in the region, with numerous points of interest. The route to Caminha is made through roads that cross forest areas, requiring some physical preparation. The way back is made by the Coast, passing by the famous Moledo beach.

3 - Among Facha "Solares"

 Easy
Stroll through the south bank of the Lima River, passing by the Facha road and observe some of the most emblematic “Solares” (sort of Manor Houses) of the Minho region, important cultural heritage with years of history and tradition. This is a suggestion of an easy route, always in the countryside, ending the tour along the North Coast Ecovia, from Vila Nova de Anha.

4 - Exploring Ponte de Lima Municipality

 Moderate
The Municipality of Ponte de Lima is very diverse and rich in terms of landscape. In this tour, you will explore some of this diversity. You will observe the fields with the Vinho Verde vineyards, the pastures with cattle and the rich granitic manor houses, so typical of the region. This route is carried out on secondary roads, with few vehicles. It is a pleasant and relaxed experience, with time to enjoy the landscape and breathe the countryside air.

5- Dem Tour

 Moderate
After climbed to Montaria, we ride a few kilometers along the half slope of Arga Mountain, the view is unique and we can even contemplate the sea. Return to Viana by narrow and winding roads across the fields with the possibility to climb the mythical Santa Luzia cobbled climb at the end of the tour to contemplate the city and one of the most beautiful views of the Atlantic Coast in the world.

6- Boalhosa Mountain

Moderate
The Minho roads are enjoyable for the eyes, but sometimes demanding for the legs. Secondary roads with impeccable surfaces take us from Viana do Castelo to Ponte de Lima and from there to the top of Boalhosa. Rest and enjoy the view. All the way through the vineyards, go downwards to Ponte da Barca. In Refoios, pass by the Convent (current Agricultural School) and continue winding the Green Minho. Viana is nearby, as are Estorãos, Lanheses... and FeelViana, of course!

7 - Pedras Finas

Demanding
One of the most spectacular and also demanding routes, of approximately 100km, through the landscapes of the deep Minho region. Pedras Finas, an area known for granite exploration, has a 4 to 5% average climb for 8 km, which is the most complicated part of the route. However, the reward comes with less demanding sections and spectacular surroundings, such as the 25 km that run along the banks of the Coura and the mountains of the Serra d'Arga, up to Caminha. The way back is by the sea and what is certain is… you will certainly enjoy a deserved rest aſter it.

8 - Across Serra Darga

 Demanding
The goal is to leave the city and to conquer Serra Darga, a mountanious complex of granite origin. In addition to beign the cradle of the Âncora River, the mountain has a valuable natural heritage, which includes more than  500 species of animals. Stop and admire the monastery of São João Darga, built in the XIII Century and where one of the oldest Portuguese pilgrimages takes place every year in August. After a few miles of descent we can stop at Ponte de Lima for a well-deserved cofee to prepare the final mileage to the destination.

9 - Santa Tecla

Demanding
Bike tour along the Atlantic Coast, heading north and towards the border with Spain. From Caminha, on the opposite side of the Minho River, the climb of the day is already visible: The Santa Tecla hill in the fishermen's village of La Guardia. Heading towards Vila Nova de Cerveira to cross the Minho River and reaching the top of the hill (350m), the scenic view is breathtaking: the ocean, the Minho River and the Celtic ruins from IV B.C. The return trip to Viana do Castelo is along the same route.
