1 - Up to Âncora

Easy
Easy route through National Road 302, one of the most picturesque national roads of the Viana do Castelo Municipality, with beautiful countryside and mountain surroundings. Short but very diversified route. For those who like to blend cycling and socializing, we suggest a stop at one of the nice terraces of Vila Praia de Âncora, at the mouth of the Âncora River, one of the purest rivers in the country. Stop, have coffee and enjoy the moment.

2 - Let's go to Montaria

 Easy
If your wish is to stop and have some pork “rojões” for lunch or a delicious roasted baby goat, accompanied by a good “champarrião” or vinho verde, this is the route you will choose, in São Lourenço da Montaria. The whole tour is carried out in forest areas, surrounded by oaks and pines, and there are several options for eating and drinking on the way. If aſter the meal, you prefer the “siesta” to pedaling, we will take care of it and we will arrange a transfer for you and your bike.

3 - Among Facha "Solares"

 Easy
Stroll through the south bank of the Lima River, passing by the Facha road and observe some of the most emblematic “Solares” (sort of Manor Houses) of the Minho region, important cultural heritage with years of history and tradition. This is a suggestion of an easy route, always in the countryside, ending the tour along the North Coast Ecovia, from Vila Nova de Anha.

4 - Up to Caminha

 Moderate
Caminha is a border town at the mouth of the Minho River. One of the most picturesque towns in the region, with numerous points of interest. The route to Caminha is made through roads that cross forest areas, requiring some physical preparation. The way back is made by the Coast, passing by the famous Moledo beach.

5 - Exploring Ponte de Lima Municipality

The Municipality of Ponte de Lima is very diverse and rich in terms of landscape. In this tour, you will explore some of this diversity. You will observe the fields with the Vinho Verde vineyards, the pastures with cattle and the rich granitic manor houses, so typical of the region. This route is carried out on secondary roads, with few vehicles. It is a pleasant and relaxed experience, with time to enjoy the landscape and breathe the countryside air.

6 - Around Arcos de Valdevez

 Moderate
The Lima Towns have a unique beauty, for their history, architecture, gastronomy and traditions. This route will allow you to visit the three towns and explore the roads connecting them. We leave Viana do Castelo towards Ponte de Lima, then go up the Lima until Ponte da Barca to end at Arcos de Valdevez. The way back is made along the north bank of the Lima. It is a long tour, but it does not require intense effort, in a route which meanders fields and mountains, with low climbing and always close to the Lima River.

7 - Pedras Finas

Demanding
One of the most spectacular and also demanding routes, of approximately 100km, through the landscapes of the deep Minho region. Pedras Finas, an area known for granite exploration, has a 4 to 5% average climb for 8 km, which is the most complicated part of the route. However, the reward comes with less demanding sections and spectacular surroundings, such as the 25 km that run along the banks of the Coura and the mountains of the Serra d'Arga, up to Caminha. The way back is by the sea and what is certain is… you will certainly enjoy a deserved rest aſter it.

8 - Refoios

Demanding
The Minho roads are enjoyable for the eyes, but sometimes demanding for the legs. Secondary roads with impeccable surfaces take us from Viana do Castelo to Ponte de Lima and from there to the top of Boalhosa. Rest and enjoy the view. All the way through the vineyards, go downwards to Ponte da Barca. In Refoios, pass by the Convent (current Agricultural School) and continue winding the green Minho. Viana is nearby, as are Estorãos, Lanheses... and Feelviana, of course!

9 - Where Lima River enters Portugal

Demanding
This is the longest route of the proposed mountain tours - but that does not make it the hardest. Start at the shores of the Lima and climb up to Vacaria, exploring the mountains on the south bank of the River. The view over the Lima River is stunning for a large part of the half uphill route, ending with the descent to Ponte de Lima by the Chapel of São Cipriano. The tour ends with the return to Viana do Castelo along the north bank of the Lima River.
