Cabedelo Beach

Located in the South River Bank of the Lima River, the Cabedelo beach is a half-moon-shaped bay with a long stretch of beach and thin sand. Due to its features, this beach is extraordinary for wind and water sports, like Kitesurf and Windsurf and an excellent spot for all levels (beginner, intermediate or advanced).

There are three distinct areas: the first, by the peer, more protected and with flat water; the second, with medium size waves and side shore wind and finally, south from the bay, a third area with larger waves and on shore wind. In the morning, beginners will find optimal conditions in the calmer water by the bay, while more experienced riders can explore the more challenging spots.

The wind season is from end April until end September, with a wind that is consistent and benefits from thermal effect, what considerably increases its velocity, comparing with forecasts. Wind usually starts at 12h00 and blows until sunset with a northwest direction, 16 to 35 knots speed. From May to September the average speed between 12h00 and 18h00, is of 25 knots.

If you are looking for waves, between March and June or September and November, is when you will find the best.
